Round 1: Banana Wisdom from Betty White

Armed with a not-so-fresh banana and a laser cutter, I embarked on my mission. First up – engraving a quote from the legendary Betty White:

“The older you get, the better you get. Unless you’re a banana.” -Betty White

Unfortunately, the engraving wasn’t perfect on the first try, but the second attempt turned out much clearer. Practice makes perfect!

Round 2: Lasers & Mario Kart Bananas

Knowing Keanu’s love for both bananas and Mario Kart, I decided to laser a custom design onto a fresh banana. The laser produced a vibrant image, and I have a feeling it would get even darker over time.

Round 3: Laser Banana Guts – Don’t Try This at Home

Next, I ventured into slightly more questionable territory: laser etching the inside of a banana. The results? Well, let’s just say the “low level cut line” turned into a more substantial cut than intended. The taste? A touch burnt, but not entirely unpleasant.

Round 4: The Ultimate Banana Experiment!

Finally, the grand finale: laser cutting banana peels! I created a downloadable file specifically for this experiment, and with settings similar to wood cutting, the laser sliced right through the peel. Two bananas became one very unique pair of earrings! Surprisingly durable for an organic material, these earrings were definitely conversation starters. (Though, with a built-in expiration date!)

Mission Accomplished (and Delivered!)

After witnessing the banana’s transformation throughout the day, it was time to deliver Keanu’s engraved banana masterpiece! (Making weird things for friends – that’s what I do!)

The Verdict?

Laser engraving bananas is a fun experiment, but the results are definitely more for entertainment value than practicality. (Though, the laser-cut banana peel earrings were a surprising success!) So, if you’re looking for a unique way to express your love for bananas (or a friend named Keanu), grab your laser cutter and give it a try!
