Wasteland Materials:
- Old bottle caps (cleaned and free of rust)
- Purple and red spray paint, suitable for metal
- Masking tape
- Sharpie Oil Paint Pens (white, yellow, orange)
- Silver paint marker (optional)
Step 1: Prime Your Bottle Caps
- Apply a few coats of spray paint to your bottle caps, ensuring you choose a brand suitable for metal. Let them dry completely between coats (ideally overnight for best results)

Step 2: Masking and Marking
- Use masking tape to cover the top portion of the bottle cap, creating a clean border for your laser engraving. Carefully cut away any excess tape.
- Since automatic centering features might not be available, use a Sharpie to mark the center of the cap as a reference point for your engraving.

Step 3: Laser Like a Wastelander
- Download or create Fallout-themed engraving files (like Nuka-Cola or Sunset Sarsaparilla logos).
- Load the design onto your laser cutter and adjust settings as needed. You might need to engrave twice to achieve a crisp design that reaches the metal beneath the paint.
- Depending on your chosen design complexity, engrave your desired logos onto the red and purple bottle caps.

Step 4: Add Pops of Color
- Here’s where your creativity shines! Instead of disrupting the masking tape, use Sharpie Oil Paint Pens to add color accents to your engraved logos.
- Use white for Nuka-Cola, yellow for Sunset Sarsaparilla, and a combination of orange, white, and yellow for Nuka-Cola Quantum.

Step 5: The Finishing Touches
- Allow the paint pens to dry completely.
- (Optional) For a more weathered look and to cover up minor imperfections, use a silver paint marker to add subtle scratches and dings.

Tips and Tricks:
- While this project used spray paint and masking tape, consider using vinyl stencils for a cleaner separation between paint and the engraved design.
- If you don’t have access to a laser cutter, you can try etching designs with craft punches or stencils and paint.
With a little creativity and these simple steps, you can transform ordinary bottle caps into conversation-starting Fallout memorabilia!
