Real quick, I want you to know that the items I have picked will work for just about any type of laser out there, so you have no excuse! Plus, they aren’t too specific, so you can make these work no matter what your niche is. I’m going to be giving you a LOT of delicious ideas!

AND, because there is an immense amount of psychology that goes into selling anything, I will be adding in fun little tips that will help your customers have an amazing experience while you make more money than ever before!
And by the end I’ll have some fun things for you to try out at your next craft show, so stick with me.
Let’s kick it off with –
1 – Anything for Pets

I’m talking dogs and cats primarily here. It doesn’t matter if your business is engraving cutting boards, making jewelry, leather journals or just engraved drinkware you will 100% run into a pet owner at a craft show. You might even meet their pets!

Here is a great starter pet centric laser craft I have had great success with, despite the majority of my wares being jewelry items.
Keychains! Yuck! Keychains, are you serious!?
YES.
I recently made these “Emergency Catnip” keychains out of some scrap wood and people have been loving these. It creates an emotional reaction, usually in the form of laughter. They laugh; I laugh. It’s a great way to start a conversation and build rapport.
No matter what you usually sell, people see these and buy them up.
They might not sell well online, but these are a great impulse buy and make a great gift for others!

You can go super generic with things like Cat Mom, Dog Dad, etc. Cut out a little paw print and engrave the script, throw it on a keyring and you are good to go.

I believe in this so much, I am giving you this file for FREE! No joke!
Try a few of these out with some scrap materials you have and take them to your next show! I promise you, someone will buy one.
2 – Cheap & Little
The last example is a good one for this. Sell those for $3-$5 and you’ll find people might often buy more than one!
Other small and cheap items could be pins, magnets or plant stakes, drink stirrers – all sorts of stuff!
What I like to do is sell rings. It matches all the jewelry I sell and I can make them out of scraps! So, they are practically free to make.

Plus – I am giving you this laser cut ring file for free, too!
You can always fit one of these in other projects, or in the weird corner of another cutting. I like to make these with acrylic, but wood would work too!

This is a great no-waste solution to scraps, and it becomes an interactive display on your table. I just have all the sizes mixed together in a box and when people are interested, I say, “They are all different sizes, so feel free to try them on. I’m sure you’ll find one that fits!”

Now there is a challenge, or kind of a game for people. 9.9 times out of 10, when they find one that fits, they will buy it. It’s like a prize!
I sell mine for $3 a piece, and it becomes a great tool for other selling tactics, like, “if you find another pair of earrings, I’ll throw in a ring!”
3 – Mystery Bags
I have literally made thousands of dollars over the years selling mystery bags.
Neurologically, they are so mysterious, one MUST purchase it. Then when opened, customers get a hit of dopamine. Then they come back to see what they get the next time! And so on.
What should you put in a mystery bag? Or box?
Typically, I will put in my discontinued jewelry items. I have also purposefully made mystery bags filled with a certain type of earrings, but you don’t know what color you are going to get.
No matter what your primary products are for your laser business, include an unknown – *and discounted* – mystery item.

I just did a mini comic con just last weekend and I sold 14 mystery bags at $5 a piece. That’s $70 made off of products that were sitting around collecting dust. I think one lady was responsible for buying 4 of those because she liked what she got in that first one so much.
PLUS, I found a lot of people just tacking one on. Twice a total came to $15 and they just grabbed a $5 mystery bag and tossed me a $20 bill.
I’m sure you have things laying around that you stopped making or maybe they didn’t sell so great online, what have you!
Stick them in a bag or box and watch them sell and sell fast.
Quick side note here – You have probably caught on to one of the main psychological tactics here so far – the upsell.
Offering low cost items (and I mean very low, like $3) triggers the need for reciprocity. If you offer a free or low cost item, the customer has an internal need to reciprocate the generosity.
This shows itself in things like when a kid finds a little ring that fits, the mother then tries to find one, or another product because she internally feels the order cost is too low – especially to charge a credit card.
Another example is the 25% Rule. Upsells that cost 25% or less of the original, such as a mystery bag that is only $5 surrounded by $20 or more items make the price feel like an easy, logical (and exciting) addition.
I’ve got another fun psychological thing for you try soon, in the meantime –
4 – Seasonal Items
Craft shows are the best place for seasonal items. You don’t have to wait on Etsy’s algorithm to categorize your products, and take so long at it, that you have no chance of selling anything until next year anyway.

People are poised to buy at craft shows. The closer you are to a holiday, the better!
I’m not just talking ornaments… in fact, if you are watching this anytime near Christmas, skip the ornaments and make something like this instead –
Engraved Holiday Cutting Boards.

Steal every one of these ideas –
- New Years Day Resolution Board
- Valentine’s Day – Funny Couples Quote
- Saint Patrick’s Day – Leprechaun Snack Board
- Easter Bunny Snack Board
- Best Mother and/or Best Father for Mothers Day and Fathers Day
- Memorial/Flag/Independence Day – Put a flag on it
- Halloween – Spooky Charcuterie
- Thanksgiving Dessert Board
- Christmas Snacks for Santa!
Those little Dollar Tree bamboo cutting boards are perfect for this! And, if you don’t sell out at an event, you can save them, try to move them on Facebook marketplace or put them in your mystery bags!
You don’t need to make 50 of these for each craft show. It’s actually better to sell out than have extra.
In fact, having a limited stock is another psychological hack! When people say things like, “We just got here,” or “We’ll come back around,” make sure they know this is all you have and they’ve been going fast.
This is the classic FOMO, or Fear of Missing Out. Now or never. ๐ฉ or get off the pot. However you say it, it works.
5 – Local Symbols of Anything
I live in Colorado. Slap the Colorado flag on anything, it’s going to sell. Or a specific mountain range, or a landmark.

Denverites like the Denver Cityscape or Redrocks outline. Colorado Springs has Pikes Peak. Fort Collins has the Horsetooth Reservoir, and on and on.
No matter where you are, there’s a place people like. Whether it be a State-wide thing or very specific hiking path or body of water in your little town, people love it.
Whatever it is you make, put a local landmark on it, state flag, city flag – if you have one.
Every town has special events, like a Strawberry Festival or Ice Sculpture Festival. Frog tossing, anyone? Cheese rolling perhaps?
When I lived in Loveland, they had a Corn Festival every year. I bet you money if I was there and sold corn and Colorado earrings, I’d sell out.
The best part, townies AND tourists buy things like these.
Home town people are home town people who love to root for their home town! And out of towners want a little something to remember their trip!
Decorations, apparel, journals, pins, keychains, tumblers, coasters, stir sticks and more! People buy these up.
I bet you are even thinking of the perfect thing your town is known for right now. Stick that on the side of anything and you are guaranteed to sell it.
But, before you get to designing for your next super successful craft show, I want to tell you about one of the most powerful psychological selling tactics I want you to try. Maybe you’ve tried it before?

What I’m talking about is bundle pricing.
Those keychains from the first one? Buy 1 for $5, 2 for $8.
Buy a kay rack, get a keychain for $1.
Buy a pair of earrings and a jewelry stand, get 2 rings for free.
In fact, tell me in the comments what you’ve done for bundles before! I have learned so much from you all in the comments and I know other people have, too! I only know what I know, but when we share our knowledge we all benefit!
While you are making those, if you want to learn what it takes to make perfect products for your ideal customer, check out this post next! There are certain qualities customers are unknowingly looking for before they hand over their money and I tell you what those are, so check it out!
Thank you so much and happy crafting!
