How to Cut Brass with WeCreat Lumos Flex

This is the WeCreat Lumos Flex Materials Test #5 – brass coin.

I’m on a journey to find every perfect material setting for the Lumos Flex, let’s go.

Engraving a brass coin is cool, but what about engraving a 3 dimensional relief image?

Well, luckily for us the WeCreat MakeIt program can help us make these images with their new AI features. Upload an image and out pops a picture ready for embossing!

Now here is the secret when it comes to brass. You want it a tiny, tiny bit out of focus. Trust me.

Make sure you select the Fiber laser and have the “Relief Engraving” mode selected.

Settings: Convex Mode | Layers: 200 | Power: 100 | Speed: 500 | Frequency: 30 | Line Density: 300 | Angle: 27° | Z-Step: -0.01 mm per layer | Cleaning Pass: Every 10 Layers | Cleaning Power: 100 | Cleaning Speed: 1000 | Cleaning Line Density: 100 | Cleaning Frequency: 30

This took me 6 hours to engrave. Depending on the size, it may take longer.

Occasionally, the focal point might not be perfectly optimal. When this happens, you may need to manually adjust it to find the sharpest and brightest focal point.
